Xenex Studio ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Learn Git mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
📊 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁
𝟭. 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
The App uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used. This may include:
- App launches, screen views, and feature engagement (e.g. lessons completed, quizzes attempted)
- Device model, operating system version, and app version
- General, non-precise usage patterns used to improve the curriculum and app stability

𝟮. 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 & 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮
The App uses Firebase Authentication to support features such as saving your learning progress, favourite commands, and premium status across sessions or devices.
- If you sign in (e.g. via email or a linked provider), we receive the identifiers necessary to authenticate you (such as a user ID and, if applicable, email address).
- If the App creates an anonymous session on your behalf, no personally identifying information is required.
- We do not use this data for advertising or share it with third parties beyond what is needed to operate authentication (Firebase/Google).
𝟯. 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗗
The App integrates Google Mobile Ads to display ads to non-premium users.
- Google may use your device's Advertising ID to serve relevant ads.
- Ads may appear between lessons, before quizzes, or in designated ad slots.
- Premium users do not receive ads.
- You can reset or limit ad tracking at any time in your device's OS settings.
𝟰. 𝗜𝗻-𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀
When you upgrade to Premium (a one-time purchase), the transaction is processed entirely by the Google Play Store.
- We do not collect, view, or store any payment or card details.
- A secure entitlement flag is stored on your device (and/or linked to your account) to unlock premium features.
𝟱. 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲
The App stores certain preferences locally using Shared Preferences and Flutter Secure Storage. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless tied to a signed-in account for sync purposes:
- Theme preference (Light / Dark mode)
- Premium entitlement flag
- Onboarding / intro completion status
- Saved/favourited commands
- Progress through lessons and modules
𝟲. 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁
The App connects to Cloud Firestore to fetch dynamic content, including lesson tracks, quizzes, bonus practice questions, command references, tips, and announcements. Where account sync is enabled, your learning progress and favourites may also be stored here, tied to your user ID.
𝟳. 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 & 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
If you submit a bug report, feature request, or feedback through the in-app Feedback channel, we receive the content you submit (and, if provided, a contact method such as an email address) solely to review and respond to your submission.
𝟴. 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀
The App uses connectivity_plus to check whether you have an active internet connection (for example, before fetching lesson content or the "More Apps" showcase). This is a local, on-device check and is not transmitted or stored.
⚙️ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗪𝗲 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, maintain, and deliver the core learning experience
- Sync your progress, favourites, and premium status across sessions or devices (if signed in)
- Analyze anonymous usage trends to improve lessons, quizzes, and features
- Serve ads to non-premium users
- Verify and unlock one-time premium purchases via Google Play
- Review and act on user-submitted feedback and bug reports
- Detect, diagnose, and fix technical issues
We do not sell your personal information.
🤝 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱-𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Firestore, Authentication) — Telemetry, content delivery, account sync

Each third party operates under its own independent privacy policy (available on Google's official privacy pages).
⏳ 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
- Analytics data is retained by Firebase for up to 14 months before automatic deletion.
- Account & sync data (progress, favourites, entitlements) is retained for as long as your account is active, and deleted upon account deletion request.
- Local device data remains on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App.
- Feedback submissions are retained only as long as needed to review and resolve them.
🛡️ 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including relying on Google Firebase's security infrastructure for authentication and data storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
👶 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
🌍 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀
If you access the App from outside the country where our servers or service providers operate, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a different jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
